Therapy can be helpful to older adults who may have difficulty with the transitions and losses of aging.  Aging adults often experience depressed mood and anxiety as they face life’s changes. Supportive therapy can assist clients in dealing with difficult emotions and working through changes and loss in a constructive manner.

Those acting as caregivers for senior relatives can also benefit from therapy. Being in the caregiver role can be highly stressful  due to financial difficulties, too much added responsibility, family life adjustments, and major role changes.  A supportive therapy relationship can a provide a safe place to express feelings, frustrations, and anxieties and can also assist in stress management and problem solving.
