As adults, we all face challenges at different points in our lives. For many challenges, a positive therapeutic relationship can be helpful. Therapy can provide a safe space to:

  • explore and gain a better understanding of yourself
  • learn and practice new skills such as coping and communication
  • develop greater confidence
  • address issues that have been barriers to reaching goals

In my work with adults, I frequently use a mindfulness-based Cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach while incorporating other therapeutic orientations as appropriate for a specific client.  I work with adults to help address challenges in the following areas:

  • Anxiety or excessive worry
  • Depression
  • Self-esteem or confidence issues
  • Adjustment to life transitions such as divorce, relocation
  • Grief and loss
  • Parenting / caregiver stress and problems
  • Job, career, or school difficulties
  • Anger problems
  • Shyness and social challenges
  • Stress management
